Cirque de Soleil’s Amaluna
Have you ever been to a Cirque du Soleil show? Founded in the 1980s by two street performers with the aim of combining the circus arts and street performance, it has now grown to be the largest producer of theatre in the world, with shows traveling all over the globe.
I had always been intrigued, but never actually made it to a show. A few years ago, I finally bought a ticket to a performance of Amaluna when it came to Montreal, and it was absolutely amazing. It was beautiful and moving, with some comic interludes interspersed as well. The costumes were absolutely awe-inspiring, as were the amazing physical feats of the performers, The same show is in Boston right now, playing until July 6th! If you have been at all curious about Cirque du Soleil, you should definitely get tickets!
For tickets and more information, consult the Cirque du Soleil website. Playing until July 6 in the Seaport.
