The Weekender: July 18-20

weekender

Hooray for another gorgeous weekend! We’re excited to get outside and enjoy the beautiful summer weather. Here are our top picks for a great July weekend.

Follow the Beat. I love exploring Somerville for many reasons – awesome restaurants and bar scene, unique local shops – and the amazing art! This weekend, ArtBeat is back in Davis Square! As one of the area’s largest arts festivals, there will be over a dozen bands, 75 craft vendors, food, and themed activities.

Listen to the Music. Let’s be honest, summer is all about being outside and having a great time. Head to Jamaica Plain this weekend for the 1st annual Jamaica Plain Porchest, where you can dance along to dozens of local bands and artists. For the full map and additional details, go here.

French Film Festival. This month, the MFA is celebrating french film with the 19th Annual French Film Festival. Take yourself to an afternoon at the movies followed by a glass of rosé!

Sailing in the Harbor. On Friday and Saturday, The Courageous Sailing Center will be offering 30-minute sails around the harbor as part of Charlestown Week. Take advantage of this beautiful weather and relax with the harbor breeze.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
