Snug Harbor Farm
As much as summer in the city is wonderful, I often look forward to summer weekends away. In addition to fresh seafood, lazy mornings, and lots of time outside, I love taking detours on the way home. Nothing beats driving through back roads, windows down, breathing in the country air.
On a recent trip up to Maine, we passed through Kennebunk to pay a visit to Snug Harbor Farm. I had heard amazing things about this little oasis and couldn’t wait to check it out for myself. Since I don’t have a very green thumb, I appreciate succulents and similar plants that are relatively easy to maintain. Although Snug Harbor has a diverse selection, the succulents won me over.
In addition to beautifully appointed greenhouses, Snug Harbor Farm has several miniature horses (!), a barn dedicated to imported terra cotta planters, and a wonderfully curated shop featuring items for the garden and home. I’m hoping to go back soon for one of their many workshops!
Snug Harbor Farm, 87 Western Avenue, Kennebunk, Maine. Hours: Monday-Sunday, 9 am – 5 pm. For additional information, please visit Snug Harbor Farm online or call 207-967-2414.
