The Weekender: July 25-27

weekender

Can you believe it is already the last weekend in July? This summer has been going by so fast – we are trying to make the most of it! Beach days, lemonade, warm breezes, and ice cream cones for everyone! Here are a few fun ways to celebrate summer in the city this weekend.

Summer Arts Weekend. If you love live music, Copley Square is the place to be this weekend! On Saturday and Sunday, a diverse lineup of bands will be performing for free! Love it. More information on the event here.

Art on the Greenway. Another great event this weekend – the FIGMENT project will transform the Greenway with participatory, collaborative art. With the aim to bring art outside gallery and museum walls and make inclusive works that blur the lines between creating and enjoying art, I definitely recommend stopping by! Plus, on Saturday night from 6-11pm, FIGMENT after dark adds music and performances to the mix. Check out the website for more information.

Jazz in the Park. The first Cambridge Jazz Festival brings jazz music, food trucks, and a beer café to University Park Commons. Join the party Sunday afternoon, 12-6pm. For more details, take a look at the festival website.

Peaches at the ICA. Provocateur singer, musician, and DJ Peaches is bringing her outrageousness to the Institute of Contemporary Art on Friday evening as part of their Wavelengths series (show starts at 6:30pm). Find out more on the ICA website.

Out of the Park! While I am not the biggest sports fan, it is so fun to cheer with a crowd. Even if you aren’t planning to be at Fenway anytime soon, you can join the fans on Boston Common to watch the game together this Sunday. Starting at 1:40pm, the game will be playing on a big screen – bring blankets and a picnic!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
