Apple Picking in the Greater Boston Area
There are few things better than biting in to a crisp, perfectly juicy apple.
Although we are certainly sad to say goodbye to summer, we are eager to embrace fall (in just a few short days). Let’s be honest, while summer is amazing, New England lives for fall. From incredible foliage and fresh produce to mulled cider and cozy backyard fire-pits, there’s so much to enjoy in these three short months. One of our favorite fall activities: apple picking. In honor of the upcoming fall, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite orchards in the Greater Boston Area.
Honey Pot Hill Orchards, 138 Sudbury Rd, Stow
Although Honey Pot has become somewhat of a zoo, we still love it. As kids, Laura and I went to Honey Pot Hill Orchards each year (and sometimes several times!) with school and our family. I have such fond memories of picking apples and pears, sipping cool cider, and of course, eating a warm apple cider donut. I’d definitely recommend going earlier in the season – and even on a weekday if you can swing it – as this orchard can get a little crowded / over-picked come the weekends.
Drew Farms,31 Tadmuck Road, Westford
If you’re looking to get enjoy apple picking without all the fuss, Westford’s Drew Farms might be the best option for you. Nothing but beautiful orchard! Plus, they are dog-friendly!
Tougas Family Farm, 234 Ball Street, Northboro
From a barnyard (goats!) to beautiful orchard and store, Tougas Family Farm is always a delight. In addition to apple picking, pumpkin picking is also in season!
