The Weekender: October 3-5

weekender

Wow – I can’t believe the date! We are in October, the month of pumpkins and changing leaves. I’m trying to get on board with fall, and am rediscovering all my cozy clothes, cracking open a bottle of red wine, etc. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Some fun things going on around town:

Fashion Fusion. This month’s First Friday at the ICA focused on fashion, with talks from the style editors of The Boston Globe, a makeup and hair “beauty bar,” a pop-up shop from Dylanium Knits, music, and more. For more information and to buy tickets ($15/free for members), check out the museum website.

Harvest Brews. October means… Oktoberfest! Friday and Saturday, Harpoon is celebrating the season with beer, music, dancing, and games. Find out more here.

Rainy Days. This rain has been crazy. It really makes me crave reading novels or watching movies. Even better – going to the movie theatre! Everyone is talking about Gone Girl, but I might wait since I haven’t read the book yet… have you? P.S. The new movie theatre at Assembly Row has ridiculously awesome seats + Earl’s a few doors down serves a speciality cocktail in a teapot = fun rainy afternoon.

A Taste of Beacon Hill. Sunday evening the businesses of Beacon Hill will converge on the Revere Hotel, offering tastes from several restaurants as well as a fashion show featuring styles fro local shops. For tickets, visit the event website. Browse all the events connected with Boston Fashion Week on this list.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
