The Weekender: October 17-19

There are so many great things going on this weekend! We’re looking forward to celebrating our sister’s birthday, and checking out some of these great happenings around town. Hope you have a wonderful few days!

Studio Strolling. Fort Point is one of our favorite neighborhoods, and there is no better time to be there than Open Studios! This weekend, 150 local artists welcome visitors to their workspaces, along with performances, demonstrations, activities, and more. I always have so much fun, and leave feeling inspired! Plus, the area is home to a great coffee shop, and so many good restaurants.

Food Truck Stop. If you are in the area on Saturday afternoon, check out the food truck festival in Westford, organized by Emily of the Fashion Truck. A portion of the proceeds goes towards the Westford Family Fund. More info here!

Brews and Bites. Seasonal New England food will be paired perfectly with beers at the Urban Grape’s event Sunday evening in the South End. Sounds delicious! Plus, a chance to chat with local chef Jeremy Sewall.

Rowers on the River. This weekend, the famous Head of the Charles brings rowers from all over together to compete this weekend. Spectators can cheer for their favorite crews from either Boston or Cambridge!  More information about watching the race here.

Orange is the New Green. Leaves are changing and the markets are full of squash – hurray for fall! Start to get in the mood for Halloween with the family-friendly Pumpkin Fest at the Frog Pond on Saturday, 4:30-6:30pm. Decorate Halloween lights, or bring your carved pumpkin, and they will be illuminated to float on the Frog Pond.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
