The Weekender: October 31-November 2

Happy Halloween! It promises to be an interesting Friday night – I absolutely love seeing people in costume walking through the streets. This is my first Halloween in Beacon Hill, and I have heard there are lots of trick-or-treaters, so I am ready to admire costumes and hand out fun-size candies on the stoop! We hope you have a festive weekend. Here are a few fun things happening around town.

Party on the Dark Side. WeWork is throwing an intergalactic Halloween party! RSVP to attend. More fun Halloween events here!

Halloween for Hope. On Saturday night, celebrate Halloween again with a party benefiting the Ellie Fund, a group focused on supporting breast cancer patients and their families.

The Dalai Lama in Boston. The Dalai Lama is giving a talk on Saturday morning at TD Garden. (I am going, and am pretty excited!) Tickets are still floating around but with a huge range in prices – maybe compare a few websites if you would like to go.

Inside 10½ Beacon Street. The Boston Athenaeum is hosting an open house on Sunday afternoon (noon-4pm)! If you have ever been curious about what is behind the red doors, this is a great chance to learn about the library’s history and programs. Plus, check out the fascinating current exhibition! No registration required.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
