The Weekender: December 12-14
Boston’s finally getting a little bit of sun this weekend, a welcome shift after a drenched week! The holidays are fast approaching, and there are lots of fun things going on around town – wishing you a wonderful few days!
DJ on Date Night. Calling all aspiring DJs! Mmmmaven in Central Square is hosting a DJ Holiday Mmmmixer Friday night. Guests can learn to DJ, drink, dance, and shop for records! Tickets are $15, and include craft cocktails from Deep Eddy Vodka. Plus, proceeds from the event allow Cambridge students to take classes in the digital arts at Mmmmaven and danger!awesome. Sounds pretty awesome to us. Learn more and buy tickets on the event website.
Family Fun. On Sunday, December 14, the Richi Childhood Cancer Cancer Foundation is hosting their first annual Winter Wonderland Family Festival at the Brookline Teen Center. There will be arts and crafts, cookie decorating, a magic show, wall climbing, sports, and of course, Santa. The event, which runs from 11am-3pm, is free and open to the public, with the goal of increasing awareness of the Foundation’s work while helping families have a day of fun! RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
An Artisanal Holiday. We love spending summer weekends strolling the SOWA Market, and always miss it during the winter months. Luckily, SOWA is making an appearance just in time for holiday shopping, with the SOWA Holiday Saturday and the SOWA Holiday Market ($5) this weekend.
Santa’s Coming to Brunch! This Saturday, Santa’s visiting Harvard Square with a stop at the Beat Hôtel between 10am and 3pm. The regular brunch menu, in addition to special dishes and cocktail creations, will be available. Reservations recommended – call 617-499-0001.
