The Holiday Stage
The holidays are taking center stage this month, with lots of great shows to help get you into the spirit. Here are a few of our favorites.
The Nutcracker. I mean, of course. Re-imagined last year with new costumes, beautiful new sets, and reshaped choreography from Mikko Nissinen, the beloved ballet is better than ever. I saw it last year, and had the chance to see a dress rehearsal this year. The music and dancing is gorgeous, and there are so many fun moments. The bear is my favorite, but I’m also a fan of the mouse king. ;) Check out the Boston Ballet website for more details and tickets. (Through December 31.)
The Christmas Revels. This great group is passionate about sharing traditional song and dance in an interactive way. Their Christmas show may have you clapping, singing, and even dancing! So much fun. Check out our blog post for more information. (Through December 28.)
A Celtic Christmas Sojourn. I haven’t seen this show, but it sounds like a lot of fun! The music and dancing is inspired by Irish culture, plus a few surprises. Take a look at their website for information and tickets. (Worcester on December 17, New Bedford on December 18, and Boston on December 19-21.)
