The Weekender: January 30-February 1

weekender

What a week! We loved seeing all of your blizzard photos on the #bostondaybook feed. The city sure did look beautiful! We hope you have a wonderful, cozy weekend. Here are our top picks:

Some Like It Hot. Treat your taste buds to the 7th annual Chili Cook-Off this Saturday in Harvard Square. Local restaurants will be offering samples of their very own chili. Best of all – the event is free and open to the public!

Burrito Bowl. On Saturday, Brian Poe of Poe’s Kitchen at the Rattlesnake will kick off Burrito Bowl IV. Each participating chef will create a signature burrito reflecting the city of their favorite NFL team. This is one contest we’d like to judge!

Out to Dinner. I love trying new restaurants over the weekend. Top of my list? South Boston’s new Loco. The taqueria and oyster bar opened on West Broadway last week.

Art at the SMFA. Featuring the work of 16 artists, the SMFA exhibit, Permanent War, opens this weekend. The exhibit spans the devastation of WWI to everyday life as a solider or veteran. For more information, please take a look at our post from earlier this week here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
