It is chilly! Anyone else dreaming of a tropical getaway right about now? For those of us in Boston this weekend, here are a few fun things going on.

Catch a Flick. Oscar-nominated short films are playing this weekend at Kendall Square and Coolidge Corner. (Plus at the ICA next week).

Forget about the Weather! Sam Adams is throwing a Cold Snap Party on Saturday Night, and The Boston Globe Travel Show brings dreams of warmer destinations to the Seaport World Trade Center. (Free for Globe Insiders.)

Local Love at the BCAE. For the second time, the BCAE is hosting a Valentine’s Day Market featuring many of our favorite local artisans and purveyors.Between 10am and 2pm on Sunday, pop in and browse offerings from Olives and Grace, Cameo Macarons, Niche Garden Supply, and more. Plus, there will be donuts from Union Square Donuts and hot coffee from Fazenda Coffee (so important!). Find out more here.

Somerville’s Local is for Lovers. Also this Sunday, local vendors take over Somerville’s Arts at the Armory for another Valentine’s Day Market! From 10am to 3pm, you can peruse gifts from some of our favorites, including Porcelain and Stone, Zooguu Handmade Plush Toys, and Q’s Nuts. Find out more on the event facebook page.

P.S. We took over the @CambridgeUSA instagram account on Thursday – check out some of our favorite spots in Cambridge!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
