The Berklee Global Jazz Institute Celebrates Anniversary
To celebrate its upcoming fifth anniversary, the Berklee Global Jazz Institute at Berklee College of Music will host a series of free concerts and events, including workshops, jam sessions, and performances from jazz masters.
The Institute provides a comprehensive contemporary music environment which fosters creativity, musicianship, and connect mentors and students. “Students get the opportunity to perform along and learn from great jazz artists in the mentor – apprentice model that we learned from. It is our hope that through these relationships students will get a better understanding of what it means to them to be the musician of the future, to transform lives through music,” said Danilo Pérez, the Institute’s artistic director and a Grammy Award-winning pianist and composer.
All events are open to the public free of charge and will take place at the Zero Gravity Room, 1260 Boylston Street in Boston. More information available here, including more information on concerts, forums, and other events.
