The Weekender: March 20-22

Happy first day of spring… here’s a little more snow!? In spite of the unseasonable weather, we hope you have a wonderful weekend! Here are our picks for the next few days.

A Blast From the Past. Visitors to the MFA can view the contents of the time capsule from the Massachusetts State House, on view until April 22. The box was buried in 1795, and was unearthed in 1855 to be cleaned and gain some additional pieces. It will be reburied again, so this may be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to view the contents!

Sweet Treats. Kane’s Donuts just opened a shop in the Financial District. A taste-test might be in order!

Design Week. The 10-day event is back, featuring more than 80 lectures, receptions, and behind-the-scenes tours, many free. Learn more here.

Beach Party. Well, 108.6 inches later, we broke the record for snow this winter. (Yay?) Shock Top celebrates the coming of spring on Saturday with an ‘epic’ beach party at The Castle in the South End. There will be heaters, sand, volleyball, and lots of lemon shandy. The event is free and open to the public – RSVP here to save a spot!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
