The Weekender: April 17-19

The weather these past few days has been gorgeous – this is what we’ve been waiting for! These weekend, we’re planning to do some city strolling and brunching with friends. We hope you have a great few days ahead! Some ideas:

A New Neighborhood. One of our favorite things to do on a nice day is pick a neighborhood we don’t know very well and spend the day wandering around, popping into the shops, and stopping for a bite.

Truth and Lies. Boston By Foot is hosting a fun tour of Boston this Sunday! True Lies and False Facts: A Questionable Tour of Boston takes participants from Long Wharf past the Customs House and into Beacon Hill, while telling crazy stories – some true and some lies! Join the guide after the tour for a drink at Carrie Nation to find out which were true. Tickets are $20, for more info visit the event website.

Miwa Matreyek at the ICA. The LA-based multimedia artist performs at the ICA Friday and Saturday evenings, with a show that combines her live movements with stunning animated imagery. Tickets are available on the ICA website, and you can check out a trailer for Miwa’s beautiful work here.

Marathon Monday. If you are lucky enough to have Patriot’s Day off work, the path of the marathoners is the place to be! Everything you need to know. Plus, Society of Grownups, located right along the race route at mile 23, is hosting a free party from 9am-noon with food, brunch cocktails, and poster making. Find out more on the event page.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
