A Day Trip to North Adams
North Adams, MA is located at the base of the Berkshire mountains and is about 3 hours from Boston.
When to go:
Popular times to visit North Adams include the summer for a variety of festivals, September for the Berkshire Food Festival, and February for Winter Fest. I’d also recommend checking the MASS MoCA and The Clark exhibition schedules.
What to do:
– Stroll the banks of the Hoosic River on your own or learn more about the town history on a walking tour.
– Hike to nearby Mount Greylock, the highest point in Massachusetts.
Where to eat:
PUBLIC eat+drink – new American restaurant with a variety of small plates, flatbreads, and more.
Brewhaha Cafe – cafe dining right across from MASS MoCA.
Jack’s Hot Dog Stand – can’t beat these prices!
Where to shop:
Hudsons – for a collection of art, jewelry, antiques, gifts, etc.
Berkshire Emporium – 10,000 square foot antique mall.
Hardware: The MASS MoCA Store – don’t miss if you like museum shops!
And if you’d like, where to stay overnight:
The Porches Inn – this is the main hotel in the area.
Holiday Inn Berkshires – on a budget.
Blackinton Manor Bed & Breakfast – for the B&B lover.
