The Weekender: May 8-10

Happy weekend! I am headed to Woodstock, Vermont for a few relaxing days. It’s bound to be a beautiful weekend. To all the mothers and moms-to-be out there, happy Mother’s Day! We hope that you feel extra loved this weekend.

All Aboard. We love when this event comes around: Saturday is Boston Harbor Island’s free ferry day! Take advantage of the beautiful islands that sit right in our own backyard. Be sure to snag your ticket quickly – it’s first come, first served.

Duckling Day. Is there any cuter way to celebrate Mother’s Day than with Duckling Day? A beloved tradition for over thirty years, Sunday’s Duckling Day celebrates one of our favorite books, Make Way for Ducklings with a parade. It might be the cutest thing you see all year.

ArtWeek. If you haven’t had a chance to participate in ArtWeek, now’s your opportunity! The series of events ends May 10.

Let’s Eat Cheese! As a kid, visiting Drumlin Farm was always a treat. As an adult, it can be fun, too! This weekend, Drumlin is hosting a cheesemaking workshop, which will include discussions around aging, creating a cheese cave, and building a cheese press. Participants are encouraged to have some basic cheesemaking experience. For more information and to register, please go here.

Summer Sizzler. As the weather starts to warm up, celebrate with Sam Adams Summer Sizzler. A $30 ticket gets you access to this summer kick-off party, plus a Sam Adams Summer Ale and four additional beer tastings. Cook-out style foods will be available from B.Good and tunes from DJ Jay Desimone.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
