The Weekender: July 17-19

boston-weekend-events

Happy almost-weekend! Laura and I are both away this weekend (in Bermuda and France, not too shabby!), but if you are in town these next few days, there are lots of fun things happening. Our top picks…

Outside the Box. The Outside the Box festival returned to the Common this week, and will run through July 19. The schedule includes family-friendly music, print-making from the MFA, and educational elements from the Freedom Trail Foundation and the New England Aquarium.

Daiquiri Days. The ultimate Daiquiri Bash is hitting town this Saturday at The Painted Burro. On the eve of National Daiquiri Day (because why not!), the Burro will serve up their signature Daiquiris starting at 3pm.

Yoga, Out and About. If you’re into yoga, there are plenty of places to practice this weekend! Practice your down dog at Somerville’s Assembly Row or a free sunrise yoga class on the Esplanade.

Summer in the City! Summer in Boston is kind of the best, right? Berklee Summer in the City Concert Series is one of our favorite things. I love walking around the city and finding live music! This weekend, you can catch Berklee performances at the Lawn on D, Charlestown Navy Yard, and Georges Island.

Mais, Oui! We celebrated Bastille Day this past week, and now it’s time to continue the French love affair with the MFA’s annual French Film Festival (now in its 20th year!). The festival ends on July 26th, so this weekend is a perfect time to catch a film or two.

JP + Art. The Jamaica Plain Art Walking Tour includes murals, sculptures, and more throughout the historic neighborhood. For tickets and more information, please go here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
