The Weekender: August 28-30

I am headed to Provincetown this weekend and cannot wait to enjoy walks down Commercial Street and feel the sand between my toes at Race Point Beach. Wherever you find yourself this weekend, make it a good one! If you stay in town this weekend, our top picks are:

Yoga Outdoors. Practice your flow with a free outdoor yoga class at the Liberty Hotel on Saturday morning. If you’re looking for even more fresh air, head for a stroll along the Esplanade afterwards. It’s one of our favorite places!

Saint Anthony’s Feast. The ‘Feast of all Feasts’ is back this weekend with parades, strolling singers, and live entertainment in the North End. Over 100 food vendors will be serving arancini, sausage and peppers, calamari, pizza, and of course cannoli and gelato! Details here.

Animals in the Wild. Combining art and engineering, artist Theo Jansen creates giant mechanical structures called the Strandbeests. This weekend, you can spot these animals at City Hall Plaza and the Greenway.

Concerts on the Boston Harbor Islands. It’s a beautiful weekend for a little escape to Spectacle Island, one of the Boston Harbor Islands. On Sunday, students from Berklee College of Music will be playing jazz favorites on the island. More information available here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
