The Weekender: September 4-7

Happy holiday weekend! It’s hard to believe it’s Labor Day already — we hope you have some fun plans for the long weekend. Here are a few great events happening over the next few days.

Party on the Water. The ICA finishes out its summer season First Fridays with an Endless Summer party on Friday, 5-10pm. Synth pop, sangria, street food, and art!

Fireworks over the Harbor. On Saturday evening around 9pm, make your way to the Harborwalk for the best view of the fireworks display. In particular, Christopher Columbus Park, Piers Park, and Fan Pier should be great spots to enjoy the show! More info here.

Galleries and Gardens. The Gardner Museum is offering free admission on the holiday Monday (first come, first served) in honor of Frank Hatch, a community advocate and supporter of the arts. We love to browse the halls of the museum, and of course admire the spectacular garden!

The Language of Pop. We all know the colorful gas tank in Dorchester conceived of by artist Corita Kent, but most of us don’t know much about her work. An exhibition at the Harvard Art Museums focuses on the pop artist and Catholic nun, and her place among her fellow pop artists.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
