Narbona Wine Lodge

Some magical places let you leave all your everyday cares behind. Last Thanksgiving, I took an incredible trip to Argentina and Uruguay, and during that trip, we visited Narbona Wine Lodge in the Uruguay countryside. The beautiful landscape, kind people, and incredible room (with a view of the vineyards) has yet to leave my mind.

The five-room hotel (we stayed in the Tannat suite) is spacious and my husband and I felt like we were the only guests, which in fact may have been true! Although our stay was only two nights long, we felt so relaxed. I think my husband’s favorite part was taking the 4×4 for a ride through the vineyards at sunset. Pretty magical! I was obsessed with the on-site restaurant, where we ate the most incredible food. True to their name, they produce wine, but also make cheese, dulce de leche, and pasta.

Aside from this fantastic hotel, there is so much to love about Uruguay. It is such a beautiful place, and driving along the dirt roads, I felt like I was transported to a different time. If you find yourself in South America, I’d highly recommend taking the ferry over to Colonia del Sacramento and exploring from there. You won’t be disappointed!
