The Weekender: November 6-8

weekender

Can you believe this amazing weather we’ve been having? It looks like a relatively nice weekend, too. I’m looking forward to taking it easy and enjoying time outside! Enjoy the next few days.

First Fridays! Celebrate the first Friday of November at the MFA’s monthly event, at the ICA’s (Bau)House Party, or at SoWa where galleries, studios, and shops open their doors to the public.

City Awake. This weekend, participate in the ten-day, citywide festival, City Awake. This weekend’s events include an evening of dancing and connecting at General Assembly, a day devoted to family literacy at Cambridge City Hall, and a dessert fundraiser at Haley House. Check out the ten-day schedule of events here.

Brass Attack! Kick-off the weekend with a concert festival featuring Cocek! Brass Band, Somerville Symphony Orkestar, The Brian Thomas/Alex Lee Clark Big Band and The Raya Brass Band at Cuisine en Locale in Somerville. It will be an eclectic evening of dining, dancing, and lots of fun music!

South Boston Open Studios. Twice a year, the artists of South Boston open their doors to the public. The event is free and open to the public!

Dine ‘n Dash. Complete a 3.1 mile run followed by a tasty b.good meal at this Saturday’s Burger Brigade Dine ‘n Dash! All proceeds from the event go directly to the b.good Family Foundation, a nonprofit that gives micro-grants to local leaders who are looking to improve our community.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
