The Weekender: January 15-17

boston-weekend-events

Hooray, the weekend is here! I’m going to be ripping up old carpet all weekend long, but I have to admit that I’m kind of excited. Home renovations can be thrilling, especially when they’ve been a longtime coming. Here are our top Boston weekend events…

Boston Common Skate. I have the best memories of ice skating on the Frog Pond as a kid. I loved the twinkly lights throughout the park and the energy on the rink — and of course the post-skate hot chocolate. This weekend, enjoy being a kid again on the Frog Pond, which is open Friday-Saturday from 10am to 10pm and on Sunday from 10am to 9pm. More information available here.

A Hot Toddy (or Two). Short Path Distillery recently launched their winter cocktail menu, which features two hot drinks. The tasting room is open from 5-10pm on Friday, noon-10pm on Saturday, and 1-6pm on Sunday.

Say Yes to Swing! The winter is a great time to pick up a new hobby. Have you ever tried swing dancing? There are plenty of free classes (no experience required!), and here’s one to try this weekend.

Repotting Month. January isn’t only a time to shed the old, but it’s also time to repot your houseplants! Lexington’s Wilson Farm makes it easy by offering repotting help all month long. Make sure to pick up some sweet treats in their farm shop while you’re there!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
