Cidergeist Comes to Boston

There’s a new cider in town! Cincinnati-based Rhinegeist Brewery launched their cider in Boston this past week. Located in a bottling factory from 1895, the company was inspired by the pre-Prohibition thriving beer culture of Cincinnati. Now they are playing around with cider, which allows them to work with a lighter and drier flavor.

I had a chance to sample a few, and it is absolutely delicious. Neither variety is super-sweet, and the ‘dry hopped’ cider has an especially refreshing finish that reminded me of beer. The semi-dry version was reminiscent of the cider that can be found in Brittany, traditionally served with crepes. Both would be just perfect on a hot summer day! (And they were nice on a blustery cold day too!)

Keep an eye out for it around town over the next few weeks! If you want to track it down, you can reach out to for help.
