The Weekender: April 29-May 1

Can you believe that we’re already welcoming May? I’ve been trying to spend as much time as possible outside, soaking up the beautiful spring sunshine and all of the beautiful blooms. It really is such a lovely time of year! Enjoy the next few days.

Brunch Done Right! Short Path Distillery’s Bloody Mary & Bagel Brunch is back this Sunday! From 10am to 1pm, the Everett distillery will serve up loaded Bloody Mary’s featuring their signature gin, and Better Bagels will offer a variety of their homemade bagels and spreads (plus lox)!

CraftBoston. This weekend, the Society of Arts and Crafts will host the CraftBoston Spring Show, featuring the work of 90 diverse artists and crafters, at the South End’s Cyclorama. Browse handmade jewelry, clothing, furniture, and home decor, while meeting the artists and learning about contemporary craft.

Open Market Season is Back! Kicking off its summer season, the SoWa Open Market will open this Sunday with food trucks, vintage market, plus studios and shops. For local handmade goods, more food trucks, and farmer’s markets, head down to the street to Ink Block, where the South End Open Market is making its new home this year.

Welcome, May. Celebrate this brand new month with Harvard Square’s 33rd annual Mayfair. This springtime event features three stages of music, 20+ dance groups, food and drink, crafts, street art, and a chalk art gallery. There will also be a children’s activity area, four beer gardens (!), and train rides.

Art in Bloom. Garden clubs and floral designers from across New England will come together at the MFA this weekend for Art in Bloom, a festival of art and floral design. Go here for a full list of events and more details.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at Have a wonderful weekend!
