The Weekender: May 20-22
We are wishing you a wonderful weekend! On our agenda: catching up with an old friend and enjoying some time outside. Here are some fun things happening over the next few days.
An Esplanade Afternoon. Radio 92.9’s EarthFest brings music and family activities to the Hatch Shell on Saturday! On the main stage the music starts at 11:30am, and includes sets from Fitz and the Tantrums, Joywave, The Strumbellas, and Flight of Fire. Family activities include yoga and African drumming. More info here.
Hit the Porches. Porchfest is another great way to get your music fix outside this Saturday! All around Somerville, musicians will be doing their thing on the porch — around 200 acts will participate over 6 hours! What a fun event. More info here.
On the Lawn. The South Boston outdoor space Lawn on D reopens this weekend, with children’s activities (an Aquarium tide pool!) and a concert on Friday, brunch and a movie on Sunday. Full schedule on the Lawn on D website.
Museum Days. We are due for a bit of rain on Sunday — a museum visit might be the perfect way to seek refuge from the showers. We recently visited the Harvard Art Museums and were impressed by the exhibition on indigenous Australian art. Find more here. This exhibition of Canadian art at the MFA is next on our list!
