The Weekender: June 3-5

boston-weekend-events

Welcome June! We hope you have a wonderful weekend planned to ring in the new month. We’ll be on the lookout for fresh strawberries, a sunny park bench, and a mild breeze. A few ideas for your weekend:

Donuts! Friday is ‘National Donut Day’! Typically we look askance at these ‘holiday,’ but in this case, we’ll make an exception. We’re partial to Union Square Donuts (also at the Public Market) and Kane’s (they make a gluten-free — get there early to snag one). read all about Natalie’s favorites here.

Coolidge Corner Arts Festival. This Saturday from 10am-6pm, 75+ artists will gather on the grounds of the Devotion School in Brookline (345 Harvard St.). The free event will also feature food trucks, a wine and beer garden from Hive, and music from DJ Magic Mark. More info here! (The Festival is also the last stop on the first ever Brookline Porchfest!)

Hubbub! On Saturday the Boston Book festival presents Hubbub, a day of ‘creative commotion’ for kids in Copley Square. There are events, workshops, and presentations — fun for all ages! Take a look at the event page for details.

Beacon Hill Arts Walk. The Arts Walk is one of our favorite ways to see one of the prettiest neighborhoods in Boston! Browse original art in secret walkways and hidden gardens of Beacon Hill this Sunday, from noon-6pm! More here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
