The Weekender: June 17-19

It looks like we are in for a gorgeous weekend! We are headed to Kennebunk for a little getaway – so excited! We hope you have a little fun on the agenda — here are some ideas for the next few days.

LAUNCH! The Kennebunks are kicking off the summer with LAUNCH! A Maritime Festival. We love this area of Maine, and from Boston it makes such a great little getaway or even day trip. The festival weekend includes lots of ways to celebrate the Kennebunks’ maritime history, including a cook-off using Maine ingredients, lobster bake, boat party, boat parade and more. See the full schedule here.

Fort Point Open Studios. We always love to visit artists in their studios, and this weekend is the Fort Point Open Studios! So many interesting things going on in this neighborhood. Plus, there is pizza. ;)

Explore the Coast. We love the beach. We are so lucky to have many amazing spots to take a dip or admire the surf nearby. We’re bookmarking this list from Boston Magazine, and hope to check out a few new beaches soon!

Glow in the Park. The Greenway lights up Friday night, with lights, live music, and lawn games, as well as food, beer, and wine. With proceeds benefiting the Greenway Conservancy, tickets ($95) include a yearlong membership to the Greenway Young Leaders program, an afterparty at Trade, 20% off an Uber ride to and from the event, and a tax deductible donation to the Greenway. More info here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
