The Weekender: July 15-17

It’s going to be a beautiful weekend. We are headed to Harvard Square on Saturday to wander around and enjoy a cool ice cream. We’re soaking up these summer weekends! Here are a few fun things happening around town…

Free Friday at the Athenaeum.  Highland Foundation’s Free Fun Fridays is such a great way to experience some of the city’s best museums and cultural sites for free. Today the Boston Athenaeum is free to visit. Stop in and see why we love this beautiful oasis.

Dining Out. There are so many new restaurants popping up over town! We are especially excited to try Porto, Mamaleh (love Jewish delis) and Dig Inn (the breakfast menu looks so good). Who knows what delicious new things you’ll try this weekend!

A New Look. Just this past week, the BPL central library in Copley Square reopened after an extensive renovation. This weekend is going to be a hot one, and if you’re in need of a cool escape, stop by the library to check out the beautiful new space. More here!

Outside the Box. We love festivals! The free performing arts festival, Outside the Box is back and runs through July 17th. This weekend, consider stopping by the Commons or one of the other stages to take in some fun. All events are free and the schedule includes puppet shows, concerts and kids activities.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
