The Weekender: July 22-24

Wow, it looks like we are in for a hot few days! We are looking forward to dipping the Serena’s toes into some waves this weekend — hope you have some fun things in store. A few ideas:

Along the Shore. On a hot summer day, being by the ocean is so refreshing. Nothing can beat that salt breeze! There are so many local beaches to explore — we’ve bookmarked this list.

On Screen. Another favorite thing to do on a hot day is to seek refuge in a cool, dark movie theatre. Some popcorn and a little soda, with a film that makes us laugh sounds like a great time. I’m feeling curious about this remake.

African Culture on the Greenway. Sunday’s African Festival of Boston features music, dance, arts, and fashion of the African Diaspora. Sounds fun! Learn more on the event website.

Shakespeare on the Common. The summer tradition is back! With performances until August 7, this year’s play is Love’s Labour Lost. Bring a blanket, a picnic, and enjoy summer in the city! More here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
