Happy fall! It is going to a beautiful brisk weekend and we’re excited to spend some time outside catching up with friends. Have a great few days!

Jazz in the Street. We love checking out the annual Beantown Jazz Festival produced by the Berklee College of Music. This free outdoor block party features live jazz, Latin, blues, funk, and groove performances, an instrument petting zoo, and a variety of food vendors.

30 Years of Open Studios! Pop by the South End this weekend to visit the open studios of many South End artists. This weekend, the United South End Artists group celebrates the 30th annual South End Open Studios, a weekend-long event that is free and open to the public. More than 200 artists and galleries will display paintings, sculptures, photography, clothing design, and more.

Museum Day. If there’s a local museum you’ve been wanting to visit, check to see if it’s on the list of Smithsonian museums, which are free to visit this weekend for the 12th Annual Museum Day. We loved our recent visit to the Harvard Art Museums!

Classics on the Common. Enjoy a classic movie under the stars thanks to the City of Boston and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. This evening, you can catch a screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, beginning at dusk. More info here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
