An Update: Milo at 4 Months

Where does the time go? You hear it over and over again: the first year flies by. During the first 2-3 months of Milo’s life, I was convinced that every stage was going to last forever. It was difficult to envision what the next stage is going to look like when there is such a learning curve. But, I guess that’s what parenthood is all about!

Milo is now 4.5 months old (you can see previous updates here!) and is a delightful, lovable, and happy baby. He’s really starting to interact and play, both with his toys and with people. He loves to smile – my favorite thing is to catch him smiling at me. He rolled over twice this month, and I’m sure he’ll be doing it plenty more… although, I’m in no rush. I find that the time is now speeding up faster than I’d like and my baby is growing up so much each day. I now find that he’s the oldest baby in several mom groups that I attend. So wild!

His eyes are starting to change and are looking more hazel everyday. We’ll see what they end up doing! Everywhere we go, people comment on how much he looks like me. They say he has my eyes. He’s also started sucking his two fingers, which is so, so cute.

We’ve been keeping busy with a weekly Little Groove music class, a playgroup at Hill House, and of course activities with the South Boston Mom’s Group. It’s been so nice to meet other moms and babies who are in the same headspace as us.

A few things that Milo is loving / into these days:

– his baby bjorn bouncer! He loves hanging out in here while I’m in the kitchen and loves taking afternoon naps in it, too. It’s been a lifesaver these past few weeks if I need a free moment.

– he started getting into his activity mat around 3 months, but this month he’s really gotten into the toys. He especially loves the cute owl.

– chatting! He is talking all the time and loves when you talk to him. He has also started to giggle which is kind of the cutest thing ever.

– he started kicking in the tub a few weeks ago and seems to really enjoy the routine of being in the bath now. I love watching his little personality develop.

– he’s grasping at everything these days and loves to put things in his mouth. Teething is here! He’s a big fan of this ball and loves this book, too. Crinkle noises are the best!

Can’t wait to see what the next few weeks have in store! xo
