The Weekender: December 9-11

It’s really starting to feel like the holidays — garlands and wreaths have gone up in lots of neighborhoods, and trees are lit up all around town. For us, it never gets old — those lights feel just as magical as when we were children. Hope you are starting to enjoy the season! Here are a few fun things going on this weekend.

A Day at the ICA. December 10 marks 10 years that the ICA has been on the waterfront! The museum is celebrating this week, culminating in a Free Community Day on Saturday with a special installation, talks and tours, a calypso band, a cabaret revue, African music, hot cocoa, cookies, and more. Read more about the festivities here. Happy birthday, ICA!

A Winter Festival. We are so excited to check out the new winter outdoor space at City Hall Plaza. Featuring a looped skating path, holiday shopping market, wine, food, a tour about the history of chocolate, Santa… it all sounds good to us! Can’t wait to browse those cute little stalls and sip on some mulled wine! More info on the City Hall website (and a few photos here).

Santas Take the Town. SantaCon is this Saturday — last year over 2,000 Santas participated! With a pub crawl and charity toy collection, this is such a fun way to get into the spirit. More info here.

A Movie Date. There are so many great movies out — this list has us intrigued. A night out at the movies (popcorn and chocolate included) is such a treat.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
