The Weekender: December 16-18
Somehow it is the weekend before Christmas? December always goes too quickly! This weekend, we’re celebrating Laura’s birthday with a family brunch and taking in all the beautiful holiday decorations around town. Enjoy these next few days.
Holiday Shopping. Getting a few gifts wrapped up and ready for giving is such a thrill! If you are on the hunt for something special, check out these interesting pop-up shops in Back Bay. Plus, this weekend more than 50 Etsy artisans and makers will be popping up at the Arsenal mall in Watertown. The BUST Craftacular in the South End also will feature local artisans.
A Good Cookie. It is cold out!! Weather like this makes us feel like staying home, warming the oven, and making something a little bit decadent. Earlier this week, I tried out the chocolate chip cookie recipe from Joanne Chang, and it was so good! The chopped milk chocolate really made a difference (I used some Green & Blacks).
Museum Days. The halls of our museums are such a great place to find shelter from the weather. A new exhibition on Impressionism at RISD seems interesting, as does the Isabella Stewart Gardner’s look at illuminated manuscripts. I also want to check out this exhibition at the MFA on the art of Robert McClosky, author of Make Way for Ducklings!
Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org. Have a wonderful weekend!
