An Easy Mom Uniform with Brass Clothing

Using the phrase “mom uniform” can often make me feel a little dorky… but that’s okay. Life with an active little one year old leaves little time to spend getting ready in the morning (at least I have my beauty routine down). Frequently I shower in the evenings and do as much prep in advance, knowing that my ability to look pulled together before we are out the door in the morning is dependent upon planning ahead.

Even before I became a mom, I would always reach for the same pieces in my closet. I love basic clothes that have interesting details, and most importantly, are easy to wear and clean. I love Rag & Bone jeans and anything from Madewell (these jeans are in constant rotation). I am always drawn towards items that are easy to mix and match, and still make me feel put together without being complicated. Plus, these days if something isn’t comfortable, I’m not interested.

Recently, we partnered with Brass Clothing to share a few favorite looks from their current collection. I’m wearing the Sleeveless Shirt Dress and Laura is wearing The Jumper. Brass makes chic, easy to wear pieces that are great for running after a toddler during the day, date nights out on the town, and weekend getaways. I also love their newly released Modern Trouser (the fit is amazing on these), The Work Blouse (love the neckline), plus The Fit & Flare is a classic.

I paired The Sleeveless Shirt Dress with a favorite pair of old leggings (a TJ Maxx find!) and my Vans slip-on sneakers. 9 times out of 10, I reach for these shoes. They are just so comfortable, and I love how they look with dresses.

Laura and I love taking walks with the kids along the harbor, although these days it’s proving to be a little more challenging wrangling these two! I am grateful to be able to share my motherhood experience with Laura, and I am so  looking forward to watching Serena and Milo become best buds as they grow up alongside one another.
