The Weekender: July 14-16

boston weekend events

Happy Friday! We had a nice little vacation, and hope that you enjoyed the last week. Laura was visiting our grandfather in France, and I’ve been busy running after Milo (he’s almost walking) and spending time outdoors. It’s been nice to have a little time offline, but as always, it feels so good to be back. Have a great weekend!

Summer Concert at Thomas Park. The view from Dorchester Height’s Thomas Park is one of my favorites. You can see the city skyline and Carson Beach! This Saturday, head to the park for a summer bluegrass concert. There will also be kid-friendly activities and food trucks. More information here.

A Movie Under the Stars. Enjoy an outdoor showing of the movie Moonstruck this Sunday at Christopher Columbus Park. Save the date: August 13th, E.T. will be shown on the outdoor big screen! More details here.

Bastille Day Celebration! Celebrate Bastille Day with the French Cultural Center this weekend at their annual party on Marlborough Street. There will be live music from francophone artists Ben l’Oncle Soul and Daby Touré. The block party will take place on Marlborough Street between Berkeley and Clarendon Streets. Tickets and more information here.

The Red Sox Showcase. Experience Fenway Park at Moakley Park in South Boston this weekend. There will be a Red Sox virtual reality experience, a batting cage, a Green Monster selfie station, giant Jenga, and more. Free and open to the public. Details here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
