Happy Friday! Can you believe it is already the end of July? The summer is just going too quickly. We hope you have a wonderful few days, and see you back here on Monday. A few fun ideas for your weekend:

The Lowell Folk Fest. The three-day (free!) Folk Festival in downtown Lowell this weekend The schedule features local, national, and international musicians — see the full schedule here. There will also be lots of ethnic foods to explore, as well as street performers and activities for all ages. See more on the festival website.

Puerto Rican Festival. This weekend is the 50th anniversary of the Massachusetts Puerto Rican Festival, with the festivities taking place on City Hall Plaza. The festival includes music, rides, typical Puerto Rican food, face painting, and more. See more details here.

ICA Family Play Date. This Saturday, join the Institute for Contemporary Art for a free family play date in the Seaport and in East Boston. The event, from noon–3 PM in Piers Park (95 Marginal St) and 10 am-4 at the ICA (25 Harbor Shore Dr), celebrates the museum’s upcoming expansion to East Boston, and includes free water transportation across the Harbor. Activities include sailing, art-making, and live music. (Admission is free for 2 adults per family accompanying children ages 12 and under.) How fun!

A Weekend Getaway. Summer weekends go by so quickly — it is the perfect time to take a little getaway. We are always amazed by all the great locations within reach for an easy weekend or even a day trip. See more about some of our favorite spots!
