The Weekender: September 8-10

boston events - weekend events

Happy Friday, friends! Matt is at a bachelor party in Las Vegas this weekend, so Milo and I are holding down the fort at home. We’re planning to relax and check out Open Newbury Street on Sunday. Hope you have a great few days.

Maine Open Lighthouse Day. Lighthouses are so beautiful, and we are lucky to live in a part of the country with so many! If you are in Maine this weekend (or thinking to head up for a day trip), be sure to check out the annual Open Lighthouse Day, which offers the public a rare opportunity to see over two dozen historic Maine lighthouses up-close.

Celebrate the Arts! The Boston arts community is so vibrant, and this weekend you can celebrate local artists and craftspeople at the annual Boston Arts Festival taking place at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park. More information here.

A Colorful Festival. The Cambridge Carnival is a festive celebration rooted in African Traditions. The festival is free and features a costume parade, live music and dancing, international foods, and much more. This is the largest ongoing festival in Cambridge, bringing thousands of people to the area.

Fine Arts Show. If you’re looking for a city escape this weekend, head to Lincoln to check out Historic New England’s 35th annual Fine Arts & Crafts Show at the Codman Estate. More than 100 hundred local artisans will be showcasing their work. Enjoy live entertainment, food vendors, and tours of the Codman House museum.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
