It’s been a busy week. Milo was sick with a double (!) ear infection and an eye infection — poor guy. Meanwhile, Matt and I have been nursing the longest cold with a lingering cough and lots of sleepless nights. Suffice to say, we’re all ready to feel better.
It’s been awhile since I did one of these posts (can you even believe how little Milo is here?!) so I thought it would be fun to share what we’ve been up to lately.
Last weekend was a busy one for us! As you know, the weather has been amazing and we took advantage by doing lots of activities outside. We stopped by the Head of the Charles Regatta to see all the cool vendors and of course to see some of the action on the Charles.
Later that same day, we headed out west and enjoyed an afternoon at Lookout Farm, hosted by our friends at Kamik. We enjoyed an old-fashioned BBQ and Milo devoured several apple cider donuts. They are my favorite, too! I had never been to Lookout Farm before, but I had heard rave reviews from my friend Emily.
The farm lived up to the reviews. It is HUGE and so there is so much space for kids (and adults) to run around. One thing I really liked was how everyone seemed to keep moving. There weren’t many lines and we weren’t waiting around to pick apples, buy apple cider donuts, or visit with the farm animals. I find that many orchards in New England can become chaotic on the weekends and it can take some of the fun out of it when you have to wait 45 minutes for a donut! It was a welcome surprise that although there were plenty of people at Lookout Farm, it never felt overcrowded… and perhaps because it is so large.
We took a little train throughout the farm and since we were really tired, we opted to “pick” our apples from bins. Maybe not quite as fun but after an afternoon at the orchard, we felt like we were ready to go and still wanted to take some apples with us. I love that they offer this as an option, and that you can still mix and match apple varieties.
Since the weather has been so amazing, we have been spending lots of time at the park. Lately, I’ve been taking Milo to the M Street Park which is one of our neighborhood favorites. In new toys: he is obsessed with this broom and mop set. I finally bought it for him as he’s always wanting to play with our actual broom.
Matt and I finally finished watching The Good Wife, and now we’re looking for a new show to binge watch. :) Any recommendations? We love a good drama, and bonus points for crime or suspense. What have you been up to lately? xo
