The Weekender: October 27-29
Happy Friday! It is starting to feel delightfully spooky around the city this week, with pumpkins and Halloween decorations on every stoop. We love how our neighborhoods are transformed for the holiday! We hope you have some fun things planned for the next few days. A few ideas:
BSSC Halloween Party. Friday night the BSSC (Boston Ski and Sports Club) is taking over the Living Room in the North End for their annual Halloween party and costume party.Tickets $15-20, more info here.
A Book Festival. On Saturday, over 200 authors will congregate in Copley Square for the 9th annual Boston Book Festival. The day’s events include kid-friendly activities, writing workshops, panel discussions, outdoor marketplace, live music, and food trucks.
Playground Party. If you have little ones in tow this weekend, check out the Halloween party at Myrtle Street Playground Saturday afternoon, 3-5pm. Featuring apple cider and donuts, music from Little Groove, face painting, and more. (Look for us if you go!) For both kids and adults, check out Lawn on D’s Pumpkin Palooza, from noon-11pm this Saturday.
A Night at the Theatre. The Hub Theatre Company has a new show opening this weekend. Called Robyn is Happy, it is being billed as “Sex and the City meets Titus Andronicus.” Sounds funny, and we love their pay-as-you-can model! More info here.
A Visit to the Pumpkin Patch. This is a great weekend to admire the leaves, visit a pumpkin patch, pick the last of the apples, take a hay ride, get lost in a corn maze, eat apple cider donuts, and get your basic autumn-in-New-England fix. Have fun!
