The Weekender: November 3-5

boston events - weekend events

I can’t believe it’s November! The last few weeks have passed so quickly, and the warm days lately (so mild out today!) are making it hard to believe we are well into fall. This weekend I am really excited to take it slow and relax a bit. I think we’ll be staying close by — celebrating a friend’s birthday, taking some long walks, and enjoying the foliage while it lasts. We hope you have a wonderful few days! Here are some ideas:

MFA Artisan Market and Book Sale. Handmade gifts are just the best — and it is great to see more and more venues for artisans to show their wares. This Saturday and Sunday, check out the first artisan market and book sale at the MFA. Members receive a 10% discount. More on vendors and other details here. (Plus, check out the current exhibitions, including Takashi Murakami and his influences.)

Zoo & Brew in the Seaport. On Saturday from 11am-3pm enjoy drinks from Trillium Brewery, food from Juice Press, Ben & Jerry’s and others, along with a petting zoo, puppet shows, and live music in the Seaport. More info here.

Boston International Kids Film Festival. This weekend a local film festival features films for, by, and about kids. What a cool concept! Showings are in Cambridge, Arlington, Medford, and Somerville. Take a look at the schedule and buy tickets on the festival website.

French Library Book Sale. The French Library on Marlborough Street is having a sale of new and gently used books on Saturday, with prices starting at $1! The sale starts at 9:30am and continues until 4pm.

Getting Cozy.Cooler weather is on it’s way. We love these pajamas (for all ages), and they are on sale! (Plus, on Saturday look for the #hannajams tour bus on Newbury Street to score free pajamas.)

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
