The Weekender: November 10-12

boston events - weekend events

Happy Friday! I am headed to Tulum today for a few days with Matt’s family. It should be a really nice time and I’m looking forward to running on the beach with (or after :) ) Milo. What are you up to this weekend? Here are a few fun events happening around town:

A Pop-up Series at The Godfrey Hotel. This weekend marks the beginning of a pop-up series taking place in the lobby at The Godfrey Hotel. One of our favorite local shops, Boston General Store, will be at the hotel this Saturday from 11-4. It’s never too early to start a little holiday shopping!

Tour Fancy Kitchens! I love when people open their homes to the public and you can see how they decorate. This weekend, the Scituate Education Foundation is hosting their annual fundraiser, Seaside Kitchens. The event is a self-guided tour of some amazing South Shore homes with fancy kitchens. At each home you’ll get a tour, plus there will be food tastings from local chefs and handmade goods from area artisans. Tickets and more information available here.

Fenway Open Studios. We love visiting various open studio events when they happen around Boston. This weekend is your opportunity to pop into the studios in Fenway. Participating artists and more information here.

Salute our Veterans. Honor our nation’s veterans this weekend with the annual Veterans Day Parade, which starts at the intersection of Boylston and Charles Street, marching up to Tremont Street and towards City Hall Plaza. The parade begins at 1pm.

Boston Jewish Film Festival – for Kids! The Boston Jewish Film Festival has partnered with WBUR to present Circle Round, a storytelling podcast for kids, which will take place at the Coolidge Corner Theatre this Sunday at 2:30pm. The family-friendly event will feature a live recording of Circle Round, which tells folktales from around the world. On Sunday, these stories will include lessons on greed and humility. Additional information available here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
