Happy Thanksgiving, and have a wonderful weekend!

We are wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving, and a lovely weekend! Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays — it is so special to have a day set aside for spending time with family and taking a moment for gratitude. We are focusing on basics this year: being grateful for family, for friends, for love, for the wonder of watching children grow, and for good health to be able to experience it all. We hope you have a lovely day with the special people in your life, and a slice of pumpkin pie (or two!).

A few other things we wanted to share:

Boston Winter is Back! Boston Winter reopens this Friday, and we are so excited. It was absolutely great to see City Hall Plaza transformed last winter, and we are glad that this will continue. Stop in to celebrate winter treats, do a little holiday shopping, and skate the skating path on City Hall Plaza! Boston Winter will run through December 31.

TubaChristmas. If you are in the area, check out the Boston TubaChristmas concert on Saturday. More than 100 tuba players will convene on Fanueil Hall Marketplace at 2pm to play together.

A Tree Lighting. The Charles Hotel is lighting the beautiful tree in their upper courtyard this Saturday, and all are invited to join in the Tree Lighting Celebration from 4-6:30pm. Children can help decorate the tree at 4pm, and Santa Claus’ Jazz Band will perform at 5pm. The tree will be lit at 5:30pm, followed by a vista from Santa! The performances will continue until 6:30pm. Enjoy complimentary hot chocolate from Shake Shack and holiday cookies and brownies from Henrietta’s Table. This year’s event will help to benefit Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit organization that equips children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive. See more here.

Holiday Markets. The holiday markets look wonderful this year, with lots of interesting events popping up in various neighborhoods. We love giving gifts, but it feels so much better to find something unique and have those gifts support small business and local makers in our own city. This weekend, checkout the Greater Ashmont Holiday Market in Peabody Square, Dorchester, Saturday afternoon from 3-7pm. On Sunday, 10am-4pm, 40 local vendors will showcase their handcrafted goods, door, textiles, art, and more at the Armory for the SLF (Somerville Local First) Holiday Market.

Have a wonderful weekend!
