The Christmas Revels: a Venetian Celebration of the Winter Solstice
With Thanksgiving this week, the holiday season is just around the corner (hard to believe!). We always love attending the Christmas Revels, a participatory performance of traditional music and dance from around the world to celebrate the winter solstice. This year’s production takes us to Renaissance Venice, a cosmopolitan place that was at the crossroads of the world.
The 100-member ensemble includes song leader David Coffin, the Revels Chorus of adults and children, the Serenissima Dancers, the Cambridge Symphonic Brass Ensemble, and the The Pinewoods Morris Men, among others. The Christmas Revels is always a joyous affair, and this year’s performance looks great!
Tickets are on sale for the performances at Sanders Theatre, in Harvard Yard, and include free parking at the Broadway Garage and 15% off a pre- or post- show meal at Harvest. For more information, or to order tickets, check out the Revels website. Such a great group, and a fun winter tradition!
P.S. Lots more about the Revels here.
