The Weekender: December 15-17

boston events - weekend events
Happy Friday! Matt, Milo and I are in New York City visiting friends this weekend. It is Milo’s first time in the big city and it’s been fun to show him around. Have a wonderful weekend, and here are a few ideas if you’re in town:

Christmas in the City

This Saturday on the eve of Christmas in the City, join families from around the city for a day of holiday magic. Christmas in the City is a huge festive party bringing holiday magic to families living in shelters, and this is the first year that they have invited the public the day before for a preview. Tickets are $20 (free for kids under 2) and please bring a new toy to be given to a family in need. The event features an indoor amusement park with 20 rides, photos with Santa. What a great way to enjoy a festive day while helping families in need. Tickets and more details here.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

A favorite classic holiday story (and movie!), Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer lands on stage at the Shubert Theatre this weekend. Come see all of your favorite characters including Santa and Mrs. Clause, Hermey the Elf, and of course, Rudolph. This is a great show for adults and kids alike. Tickets and more information here.

Ice Sculpture Stroll

Earl’s Kitchen + Bar at Assembly Row in Somerville is holding an ice sculpture stroll tonight from 6-9pm. The stroll will feature sculptures by students and instructors from Somerville High Culinary Arts Program.

CraftBoston Holiday Show

CraftBoston is in its twelfth year! This weekend craft artists from around the country congregate at the Hynes Convention Center for a juried exhibition and shopping bazaar. It’s so cool to see what these talented craftmakers are working on, and perhaps pick up a gift or two.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
