What Are You Watching Lately?
When the days get dark early and it’s cold and icy out, there’s nowhere I’d rather be than in the comfort of my own home. (And how lucky we are to have a warm home to be in.) Matt and I have the same nightly ritual: turn on the gas fireplace (such a luxury!), make a big bowl of popcorn, and settle in to watch something on television. Sure, it might seem kind of boring. But once Milo is asleep, it’s so relaxing to be in our warm living room just relaxing.
There have been so many great programs on television these days, and I’m always looking for new recommendations.
Here’s what we’ve enjoyed watching on Netflix:
Broadchurch – we loved this show. The three seasons follow different plots, and new characters are presented in each season. The cinematography is beautiful and evokes emotion with different shadows and lights. I really felt connected to some of the characters and their development was really thoughtful. Highly recommend if you like suspenseful drama or crime.
Parenthood – if you haven’t watched Parenthood yet, you are in for a real treat. This is one of my all-time favorite shows. You’ll love each character and their challenges (and family dynamic) is so relatable.
Ozark – definitely a darker series, but we enjoyed watching Ozark. I love Jason Bateman. It is a pretty quick show to get through, and will make you feel happy for your normal life in comparison to the Byrde’s life.
Call the Midwife – one of my all-time favorites! I did take a small hiatus from watching the show when I was pregnant with Milo (too many graphic scenes). I am back on the wagon again and excited to continue watching.
The Killing – by now, you can probably tell that we love crime and suspense. The Killing is a little slow at first, but now that we are in the second season (there are four total), we are totally hooked.
