Celebrating Love

Celebrating Love for Valentine's Day - The Boston Day Book

I could do with less of the consumerist Valentine’s Day and would be happy with more of the sentimental side of the holiday. Let’s be honest, there’s always a reason to celebrate love, especially in today’s world where it seems like it’s bad news followed by bad news. I really appreciate holidays like Valentine’s Day where we are reminded of what’s really important.

In that spirit, here are a few things that I’m feeling extra lovey about today:

– to my love, Matt, who puts up with all of my crazy ideas and even supports them. Thanks for joining me on this wild ride and always treating me so well. I love everything about you, but especially the small things that you do like making me breakfast (and coffee!), singing Milo to sleep, putting small vases of flowers around the house, and in general just making my life easier. Thank you for being you.

– my sweet baby boy who somehow (!) is 20 months old. You are a firecracker and A LOT of work these days. Toddlerhood is no joke, my friends, but this time is still so special. You teach me new things every day, but mostly how to be in the present moment and find the magic in all things.

– for the ability to travel and see this world… and for a home to come back to. We are currently at the end of a long trip (3 weeks) and I am so excited to be home. There’s nothing like sleeping in your own bed, cooking in your kitchen, and just relaxing in a space you call your own. Not a day goes by that I don’t treasure that and appreciate the home we have built.

I could go on and on, but these are the main things I’m feeling so much love for these days. Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? What are you feeling grateful for this holiday? A big hug to all of you for coming here and supporting this blog. We love you! xo

PS. In case you missed it, Laura and some of our blogger friends share how they’re celebrating Valentine’s Day here.
